The Opengear IM7200 is a state of the art infrastructure management solution which streamlines remote management of network, server and power infrastructure in data center and remote environments, ensuring business continuity, secure and reliable access, monitoring and control for local and remote operations teams. The next generation IM7200 combines Smart OOB™ out-of-band management with Failover to Cellular™ and delivers proactive monitoring and remediation, even during network outages. The result for the customer is minimized disruption and downtime. IM7200 solutions are deployed where they are most effective — alongside critical IT and communications infrastructure, to keep networks up and businesses running.
Console management raised to a new level with Smart OOB™
IM7200 extends beyond traditional out-of-band management. Proactively detect faults before they become failures. Monitor and log systems health and the physical environmental conditions for audit trail and forensics. Monitor and control UPS and power status. Alert operators and undertake per-set complex actions depending on what is detected. Bullet proof infrastructure management with integrated 8 – 48 port console server. Software selectable pinouts, no adapters. Gain immediate access to consoles via your preferred SSH client or integrated HTTPS AJAX web terminal. Smart OOB™ enables remote setup, ongoing maintenance and disaster recovery of mission-critical IT, power and network infrastructure, even when the network is down.
Failover to Cellular™ and end-to-end wireless connectivity
Out-of-band 4G LTE connections to remote infrastructure enable wireless management visibility of critical infrastructure. Wireless local management (Wi-Fi) provides connectivity to environmental and power elements around the data center. Embedded Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connections provide wireless technician access and complete independence from infrastructure faults. When things go wrong with the primary network connection, Failover to Cellular™ automatically restores site connectivity using high-speed 4G LTE. This transparent automatic failover and failback integrates seamlessly with existing IT systems and network infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted availability for remote networks. No manual intervention is needed.
Future proof infrastructure
Purpose built IM7200 is the next generation smart solution for managing critical IT and communications infrastructure. Embedded fiber ports allow for easy integration into environments without copper availability between rooms and rows. Integrated high-speed 4G LTE connections improve time to resolution and provide always-available access, remote setup, ongoing maintenance and control, and disaster recovery. The unique combination of Smart OOB™ out-of-band access and Failover to Cellular™ embeds intelligence at the network edge to strengthen network resilience and prevent faults.
Comprehensive out-of-band with Smart OOB™
Maintain complete control during infrastructure fault conditions and network outages with serial,
Ethernet and USB connectivity to critical infrastructure management consoles. Built-in dial-in and
4G LTE cellular modem provides secure alternate path for trouble-shooting and repair. Monitors
and controls virtually everything that affects uptime, including the physical environment. Proactive
problem identification, quick notification and automated remediation reduces operating and downtime
costs, and improves MTBF and MTTR.
Failover to Cellular™
Automatic 4G LTE failover and failback ensures the reliability of your network at remote sites and
in data centers. Combines with out-of-band access and monitoring of network devices for rapid remediation
of problems and increased IT resilience. Transparent failover and always-on Smart OOB™ access keep the
business up and running.
Strong security and authentication
Lock down management interfaces with local and remote AAA including Active Directory, Kerberos, TACACS+
and RADIUS with RSA SecurID. Encrypt sensitive management traffic with IPsec and OpenVPN. Comprehensive
logging features for compliance and audit trail. FIPS 140-2 validated encryption for government and military
applications. Reduce complexity, bolster security with a single point of authentication and policy
enforcement, monitor and log each management keystroke.
Vendor-neutral power management
Monitor UPS battery status, automate routine maintenance and load testing. Control PDU outlets via serial,
USB and Ethernet. Enforce remote power permissions and map managed consoles to outlets, minimize MTTR with
out-of-band power control. Uniquely supports over 100 power vendors’ equipment.
Integrates into any environment
Seamlessly fits into top-of-rack and end-of-row fiber configurations, or all copper environments.
Integration of connection methods provides a total solution which extends your serial devices over
a fiber network including long distances in metro area networks and campus environments. All-in-one solution
eliminates the need for installation and management of other devices such as media converters.
Infrastructure management that scales
Extend IM7200 with Opengear Lighthouse central management to manage up to 5,000 Opengear appliances
from a single pane of glass. Increase efficiency and reduce human error, equip every rack with virtual
remote hands in lights-out data centers and colocation cages. Leverage existing tools and workflow,
integrates with standard management tools — flexible, open management solution.
